The popularity of electric bicycles is undeniable. With more and more people choosing this mode of transportation, the market demand is greater than ever. This all comes not only from the current trends, but also from the benefits that e-bikes bring to people of all ages.

In some of our previous posts, we've covered all the benefits that e-bikes bring to people and the environment. At a time when global epidemics are still active around the world, the planet is at its highest level of pollution. It is everyone's responsibility to take matters into their own hands and do something that contributes to both their health and the planet. Commuting to and from work and trading in your e-bike are excellent options for making your mark in the process.

As mentioned above, the demand for e-bikes is greater now than ever before. People have seen how great it is to ride an e-bike. Compared to traditional bikes, e-bikes are on a different level. With pedal assist modes and batteries that allow you to go farther and faster, e-bikes are truly a great vehicle for everyone.

So if you are looking for your first electric bike, then you need to do the proper research. Electric bikes are not cheap, but what they do offer is definitely worth every penny. Although there are several different models of electric bikes on the market, you need to ask yourself a few questions before you continue shopping.

Here are some useful tips to help you choose the best electric bike.

What type of bike will you be riding on your new e-bike?

The first thing you need to consider when buying an e-bike is the type of riding you will be doing. Are you going to be riding primarily on the beach or on the boardwalk? Are you going to be commuting to and from work, or is this just a recreational bike? By answering these questions, you are taking the first step in finding the right type of e-bike for you.

Beach cruisers and other cruisers with wider tires are a good choice if you're going across the sand. If your e-bike is particularly suited for city riding, choose a model designed for city riding. These bikes often have features like integrated lights and may even include mirrors. If e-bikes prioritize shredding trails, riding off-road trails or even hunting, then you definitely need an e-bike with front suspension or dual suspension. In this case, you'll need a mountain e-bike.

Consider motor, battery voltage, battery type and total energy capacity

One of the main issues regarding the durability of electric bicycles is the location of the motor. There are three options. The motor can be located in the hub of the front wheel, or in the hub of the rear wheel, or in the middle of the five-way. All of these solutions have their advantages and disadvantages.

A motor in the front wheel provides a low-cost solution with minimal effort for installation and removal.
The motor in the middle has a low center of gravity and mounts directly to the frame providing a stable installation. It has a higher wear chain and indirect power transmission.
The motor in the rear wheel transmits power directly at the drive wheel. It does require a lot of maintenance work, as well as installation and removal.
In addition to the motor, there is the battery and the range of each e-bike. Voltage, type of battery material and total energy capacity in Ah are important factors to consider.

Voltage equals acceleration. E-bikes 24V and below do not accelerate as fast as 36-48 V e-bikes. Lithium is the best material for e-bike batteries. Range cannot be accurately predicted, however, most e-bikes can travel in the range of 10-15 miles per 3A of capacity. For longer rides, it is best to use at least 10 Ah of capacity.

Once you've considered these important things, you can focus more on buying the right model.
